This post is part of a new series, Friday Favorites, which highlights some of my favorite resources, recipes, tips, and all around fun things happening right now! I’d love if you’d leave a comment with some of your favorite finds from this week, too. We can all learn from each other!
Hi, friends! Happy Friday!
Here are some of my favorites from the week:
These are nice, simple tips/reminders to help our guts function better –> 10 Ways to Optimize Your Digestion
Thinking of getting a Vitamix? They’re having a sale on their reconditioned series! My husband and I use ours every single day – best investment ever. No, I’m not sponsored by them (if I had any affiliation, I would explicitly state so), however I wanted to pass on the good news about the sale.
Gluten Sensitivity is Not a Joke (latter half of the article)- great read about the importance of spreading awareness and cultivating more understanding to all, whether we have Celiac, Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity, allergies, or really any kind of health issue.
App alert! Have you seen the Healthy Out app? You can put in your dietary preferences and it will tell you restaurants and dishes near you that comply with your preferences. Not sure which devices (Android, etc) that it works on, but definitely check it out!

Favorite new cookbook — If you know someone with dietary restrictions or if you’re just trying to find healthier, guilt-free recipes for your holiday favorites (like Rum Balls, Tiramisu, Peppermint Patties, Sugar Cookies, Ginger Snaps, Cocoa Caramel Bars, Pecan Pie Bars and more), check this out: My friend, Leanne of Healthful Pursuit, just launched this awesome new gluten-free, vegan e-cookbook for the holidays. The recipes are egg-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, wheat-free, grain-free, corn-free, peanut-free, and soy-free, and use coconut nectar, dates, and maple syrup to sweeten. AND the recipes are easy! Definitely head over to check it out and get your copy for only $10 (or gift it to a friend!) I am thrilled to be spreading the word about this fabulous e-book and will be baking up a storm and sharing the fun with you on the blog shortly. [The e-cookbook link is an affiliate link. If you purchase through this link, Made to Glow will earn a small commission, which helps to support the development of the site. I only recommend products that I love. Thank you!]
Also, did you see? I’m running a giveaway for 3 lucky readers to win a copy of the Vegan Delish app! It’s definitely not just for vegans – this app is a wonderful healthy recipe resource for anyone wanting to have fun in the kitchen. To see my review and enter the giveaway, click here.
Finally, I’ll leave you with this wonderful video of a female patient and her medical team dancing their booties off to Beyonce before going into surgery for a double mastectomy. What a beautiful sight – strong, smart, courageous women brought together in joy even in the face of fear. As the patient describes it, “nothing brings me greater joy than catalyzing others to dance, move, be in their bodies.” What an inspiration!
Have a great weekend, everyone! Remember to slow down, get outside, and spend some time savoring the moment doing what you love with those you love.
